Where are we going from here. Not sure these days. I am getting a little nervous as the days go by. That cough the tickle in the back of the throat. Is it my allergies kicking in due to spring or is it the dreaded Covid 19. I do not know about you I personally am hitting that paranoid state.

There seems to be a little anger floating around because our Prime Minister went to his summer cottage to be with his family for Easter. The Train of thought is “how dare he” as he has publicly asked Canadians to not go to their cottages. to stay home. I understand the anger. But I also understand that he wants to be with his family who have been staying at the summer cottage, not their primary residence. People are getting edgy and doing stupid things.

Health Officials believe we have hit the peak of the Pandemic in Ontario. This is according to their modelling of the virus spread. Verdict is still out on that one. We have only been through one long week-end since its start and that resulted in a spike 7 days later. We have still yet the May long weekend the first week-end that cottagers and campers usually head out into the wilds. I think we can ill afford letting up on the restrictions until after that week-end. We do not want to repeat the mistakes of the past and become complacent and give in. Not yet I say. Not yet.

Health officials in Canada believe the curve is flattening. I am not so sure about that. Easter just past. the incubation period according to sources is between 3 and 24 days. We have passed day three and are almost through day 4. The majority believe most cases of Covid will crop up between 3 and 7 days.

Were you good boys and girls? Did you stay home and not go to mommy and daddies for Easter Sunday. We shall see.

Trump is pushing the agenda that Covid was created by the Chinese. China has decreed all research into the origins of covid within its country only be released to authorized centers. Smacks of possible conspiracy to create a biological weapon. If they created such a beast would they not also want to create a vaccine for it at the same time. Unless of course this had a plot like Stephen Kings “The Stand” or “28 Days Later” sequel“28 Weeks“ by Danny Boyle. But also lets not forget “Andromeda Strain” we can’t rule out the possibility of alien influence here after all.

Well starting to miss the little things. The conveniences like going to Home Depot to browse, or Canadian tire. On line shopping does not quiet compare to being able to touch something, to pick it up, feel its weight, gauge how well it is constructed.

On the upside, I know there are a lot of people out of work and struggling for funds, how ever I am still working. I am finding the lowered gas prices and even though as previously mention the inconvenience of not being able to shop randomly for things is actually saving me money. I am also not at the current time getting caught up in the festival season. Not spending money I cannot otherwise afford but do so so I can meet up with friends. I can safely say the loss of some one else at the current time is definitely my gain.

It also means I am not stressing about being in crowds of people and be wondering just how much some one has tried to “destroy my life” as they said the were going to do. For now I am just soldiering on one day at a time. Grumbling at the inconvenience of it all but again some how the better for it.

Captains log Covid Date 25.18.25

Needed smokes at a reasonable cost. Braved the world and travel to obtain them. A lot of traffic on the road today. I am just wondering how many people are staying away from that big Easter get together with family. I am worried that in 8 days we are going to see another spike of new infections. Did my best to avoid contact with actual people and respected social distancing guidelines, paid for fuel at the pump, drive through for coffee. But only two stops for coffee and wore as much PPE as I had each time. Only encountered one group of people not complying with distancing, but they looked to be co-workers and were travelling in the same work vehicle. Construction workers and it was my understanding all construction was to be halted.

Locally the foodland was open I was also under the impression that in Ontario all grocery stores were to remain closed this good Friday, as well as Easter Sunday. I know Walmart is complying with that.

Never have I seen more police cars out on the road. In the 5 hour rd trip I must have seen at least 12 cruisers. on similar road trips in the past was lucky to see one maybe two. Saw no vehicles pulled over.

There is speculation as to if new cases in China are not being reported. The seem to have had a miraculous recovery in 45 days. This is considering that the rest of the world does not seem to be showing much in the way of abatement.

Captains log Covid Date 24.21

Today I went out into the world.. Acquiesced to pay at the pump for needed fuel. As a front line worker I still need to get to and from work. The roads seem to be getting quieter and quieter as the days go by.

It is increasingly more and more difficult to do the quick in and out shopping I normally do. Line ups suck. I keep thinking to myself I spend more time standing in line than I ever did before. The Line ups at Walmart are stupid long, Moncions is a joke of overcrowding. Giant Tiger was reasonable for being downtown. It was crowd free and no horrific line ups to get in or at the cash.

So far my biggest issue with the whole situation is the inconvenience for safety sakes. Other than that life has been the same for this night owl. But then there is my one vice cigarettes and having to pay full price… ouch….

I have been keeping myself occupied with horticulture…. a new hobby, for a product I do not even consume, but it is consuming time, through research and developement.
